I vacated my apartment on July 9th, and it is now December. I am still waiting for my legally required move-out statement and, more importantly, the return of my security deposit. The apartment was left in excellent condition upon my departure. Despite this, the management team has provided zero communication or follow-up. I have called the office repeatedly over the past few months and even emailed the manager, and no one ever answers the phone or returns messages. The failure to provide a move-out statement and deposit after months is simply unacceptable and borders on ridiculous. This company clearly does not prioritize tenant obligations or basic customer service. Prospective renters, beware: if this is how they handle the simple process of moving out, imagine how they handle maintenance or urgent issues. Clearly the rebrand from Skyhouse to Ascher did not help, seeing as they still have the same issues and the community has gone more downhill. Avoid if possible.

Maria has been so helpful and very supportive and accommodating to me. I was in need of help with my new unit I just set moved into and she immediately jumped to help and get me an emergency transfer to a an amazing unit. The Leasing process was so easy and the staff was very eager to help and made me feel at home. I can’t wait to continue to be a resident here at The Ascher. ❤️❤️❤️

Believe every negative review you read on here. I didn’t and I regret it! If you are looking for a place that smells like rotten flesh, marijuana and dog pee- this is your place. I have to keep charcoal odor collectors out in my apartment. It’s hard to find anyone in the office. Elevators down. Concierge service that lets anyone in the building (half the time the doors are “green”). Work orders take forever. Emergency calls aren’t returned. The amount of homeless around the building is unreal. Scary just walking your dog or going to your car. Calling Greystar does no good!!!!! I called the health department about the trash today!! I can’t wait for my lease to be up!!!! As for the positive reviews- it’s most likely that Maria asked them to write them. She asked me. She even took my phone and clicked 5 stars and asked me to write it. I’m glad I changed my mind. Please believe EVERY NEGATIVE REVIEW!!!! I’m hoping the health department will come in. I wish I could move out with no fees!!! I’d get out asap!

Hello all, This is my personal review based on my experience living here since August. Please take this information as you see fit. When I first moved into the South Tower, my apartment wasn’t ready on the scheduled date. The floor was dirty and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. I’m not a picky person, and to their credit, they took a couple of hours to clean it after I had mentioned it, however it should have already been ready from the start. My biggest problem was my blinds. They were broken by the previous tenant, and despite calling multiple times and submitting several work orders over the past few months, they still haven’t been fixed. The last update I received was that all the blinds were different sizes for different apartment windows, the replacements they had didn’t fit, and they’re now waiting on a small sample to test before ordering more. It's worth noting that I haven't closed my blinds since I've started living here. Here are the pros and cons of living here: Pros Living in Uptown is extremely convenient — close to everything, but just far enough that traffic isn’t overwhelming. If you get the right unit, the skyline and sunsets are beautiful every day. Pricing is reasonable for the area. I pay $1,400 for a studio. Front office staff and 24/7 concierge are consistently friendly and helpful. There’s a pizza spot and a coffee shop downstairs within walking distance. Cons The biggest issue: the water goes out frequently. Since I’ve lived here, this has happened about 4–5 times, at various times of the day, including today, which is why I’m writing this now. There’s no reason water should be shutting off this often. It’s a dog-friendly community, but there's been moments where I've stepped into the elevator while there was dog urine on the floor on two separate occasions. Metropolis parking feels like a scam. When I first moved in, overnight parking for guests was $8.99 for 12 hours. Now, parking more than 2.5 hours is automatically $30. On top of that, residents still pay $40/month for garage access, not included in rent. To this day, I'm unsure how I can get parking passes. There wasn't any real explanation when I first moved in. Homeless activity is expected in Uptown, but it often concentrates directly outside the building. It used to be worse when people were sleeping inside the stairwell of the parking deck, behind what is supposed to be a locked door. That has since been fixed, but it’s unsettling for residents who come home late at night. Package room access has become restricted. When I first moved in, residents could access the package room at any time. Now, due to past package thefts (which never happened to me personally), the concierge has to open the door every single time. It’s understandable for security, but it’s also inconvenient if you’re trying to grab something quickly or outside of busy hours. Maintenance is extremely slow. They’re stretched thin between two buildings, so work orders can take weeks. Reaching the office by phone is nearly impossible. Before I moved in—and even now as a resident—getting someone on the phone is a struggle. There have been days where I’ve had to call 5–6 times at different hours just to ask a simple question. That shouldn’t be happening. CMPD is routinely called out here for various issues. I keep to myself, but the police presence is noticeable. Overall: If you’re looking for reasonably priced Uptown living, this place works. I’m not a picky person and most issues don’t bother me personally. But the frequent water outages are the main reason I felt compelled to write this review, that’s the one thing we shouldn’t have to deal with as residents.

Updated on November 16, 2025. Don't live here. The water goes off several times a week with no transparency at all whatsoever. Do. Not. Move. Here. I've waited to give my honest review after living here since July 17. When I first was moving in, my move in date was pushed back 2 days but was resolved by management with kindness. Since then, I will say the maintenance has been terrible. I moved in with residue all over my cabinets and have made multiple requests for this to be repainted. Since July, nothing has been done or changed. I also moved in with several broken blinds that have yet to be addressed despite my several maintenance requests. I've sent emails as well with no response. The elevators for the parking garage don't work and haven't for weeks and weeks. The regular elevators can take a while since 1 is almost always down. The hallway to get to the elevators always smells awful and it's horrendous walking past it daily. The only redeeming quality is the view I have on the 18th floor, and the pool being reopened this summer was helpful. I wish the management/maintenance cared more to help its residents with these issues. If you try to reach out to them via phone/email they most likely will not answer or get back to you. I would say don't move in here unless you're ready to experience these issues. I love my apartment for the south city facing views though-not worth it otherwise.

We had such a wonderful experience working with Maria at the leasing office! From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, welcoming, and patient. She went above and beyond to make sure all of our questions were answered and helped us feel comfortable every step of the way. Maria truly made the whole process so much easier, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about the people she’s helping. She has such a friendly personality and made us feel at home before we even moved in. We’re so grateful for her help and can’t thank her enough for making this such a positive experience.

Living here has been a very disappointing and unsafe experience. The fire pits in the North Tower and the dog park have never worked since I moved in. Many of the dog park fences are broken, which is a serious hazard. The key fobs for the garage haven’t worked for months, and there have been multiple shootouts on the property, making it feel unsafe. The elevators are out of service more often than they are working, which is a huge inconvenience. On top of that, I’ve dealt with bug infestations in two different apartments. Despite asking several times for pest control, management always says they’ll send someone but never actually does. The property is poorly maintained, unsafe, and not managed responsibly. Between the infestations, constant broken amenities, and security issues, this place should not be in operation.

The Ascher is all that I desired & needed in a new apartment in uptown Charlotte. My personal Leasing’s agent Breyetta who was assigned to me made every step of the way a pleasure. From the time I walked in the door of her office, to signing the lease & each day she is here she continues to go above and beyond for everyone here. She’s very caring and good spirited and is a true asset here. The Ascher has all the bases covered on all levels and I would recommend the property to everyone. Peace n Blessings
